Here is some more info about Ilan Speizer
Ilan Speizer is a Seattle-based songwriter, performer, and multi-instrumentalist whose style combines bluesy, folk-rock grooves with a wry sense of humor and an ability to be both profound and whimsical in the same breath. Raised in a home steeped in Jewish rituals, values, and stories, Ilan is continually drawn toward exploring and questioning his relationship with Jewish texts, practice, and belief, in song. Whether sharing an obscure Biblical tale or reworking HaTikvah, the Israeli national anthem, into a fingerpicked blues, Ilan takes his audience on a unique journey through Jewish thought.
Most recently Ilan’s taken his interest both in music and Jewish studies and created Turn It and Turn It , a powerfully engaging performance/workshop which brings biblical characters to life and encourages people of all backgrounds to explore their own personal connections to lives that, at first glance, seem alien to their own.
