Rescheduled Community Havdallah and Niggun Singing Circle
February 16 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pmFree
Panim Hadashot-New Faces brings people together through Shabbat Hospitality to celebrate the end of Shabbat ritual, Havdallah, with food, song, and story. Experience the magic of the torch candle, the spices, and the wine along with some of the most exquisite Jewish music and group singing provided by the Heart of Shabbat Ensemble. On this night we will be singing beautiful niggunim (wordless melodies) of new Jewish composers such as Joey Weisenberg.
This Havdallah event is free, open to the public, and kid friendly. We welcome Jews from both secular and more traditional backgrounds. We also extend an invitation to people from other faiths and cultures who would like to share in an authentic experience of the joy of the Jewish Sabbath. Our meal is a vegetarian and pareve potluck.
*Logistics: We are currently holding the Havdallahs in the Jasper Apartment Community Room in Northeast Seattle. The Jasper has ample street parking, accessibility to public transportation, and full disability access. An RSVP is required to attend.
This event originally was to take place on 2/9/19, but was rescheduled due to snowmagaden
